Turn on developer mode

On the TV: Settings, Device Preferences, About, press Build seven times. Then switch on Network debugging.

    Questions, answered

    Does tidytv delete apps?

    No. Apps are turned off with Android's own setting, never uninstalled, and Restore turns them back on.

    Do I need a computer?

    No. Your phone and TV only need to be on the same Wi-Fi. No laptop, no AI, no root.

    Can I undo changes?

    Yes. Restore everything puts every app and your old home screen back with one tap.

    Does it work with my TV?

    Android TV and Google TV sets and boxes. Fire TV gets the clean-up but keeps Amazon's home screen. Samsung and LG don't run Android.

    How do I install the APK?

    Open this page on your Android phone, tap Download, then open the file. Android asks once to allow installs from your browser; allow it and tap Install. The app is signed, and every release is on GitHub.

    Is it really free?

    Yes. Free and open source under the MIT licence. No ads, no account, no tracking.

    Will it remove YouTube ads?

    No. It turns off the TV maker's ads and trackers. Ads inside apps are not affected.
