Debloat the CHiQ AI PONT GTVU65
Google TV 14 · 13 apps on the list · tested on a real set
The CHiQ AI PONT GTVU65 comes with a Changhong store and help app, Google feedback and Android ad services, Play partner auto-installs, a streaming app most owners never open, and a few preloaded apps. None of it is needed to watch Live TV or HDMI.
This list was tested on one set. Home opened, Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and Apple TV launched, and the Inputs menu still listed Antenna, Cable, Satellite, ATV, AV and HDMI 1 to 3, with HDMI 1 switching. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi. It saves a backup first and never uninstalls anything, and Restore everything brings them all back in one tap.
Apps TidyTV can turn off on the CHiQ AI PONT GTVU65
Grouped as the tested list groups them. In the app each one has a switch, so you choose. Apps marked your call are extras the list leaves on.

What always stays on
- Live TV and the HDMI and AV inputs, which run on MediaTek TV services
- Bluetooth remote pairing and the volume receiver
- Remote key handling, including the Input key
- Picture brightness control and the Homwee firmware updates
- Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and Apple TV, which all launched in testing
Good to know on this model
- This list turns off the stock home screen. Home may then pause on a leftover Google setup screen before the new one opens, which adds a short delay to each press.
- Marvin TalkBack, the screen reader, is turned off in this list. Turn it back on in the app if you use it.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
It turns off the partner customizer that adds rows and branding to the stock home screen, along with Android's ad services. The stock home screen itself is also in this list, so a clean home screen from the app is the usual way to replace it.
Will the remote still work?
Yes. Bluetooth remote pairing and the Input key handling are kept on purpose.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back, in one tap.
