The Compac ATV R2 ships with telemetry and feedback services and content rows with promos that install apps by themselves. It also has background services, duplicate apps and some preloaded apps and casting tools. There are 16 apps on the list. It uses the same platform as the Sanyo ATV R2.
Google Assistant, FastCast screen sharing, firmware updates, Spotify and YouTube Music are kept. So are the TV inputs, tuner and remote. TidyTV turns the rest off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything. Good to know on this model
- Two apps are left alone because it is unclear what they do. One is an overlay that may be store-demo stickers, the other is a hearing profile app.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Will the voice button still work on my Compac ATV R2?
Yes. Google Assistant is kept.
Does casting still work?
Yes. The FastCast screen sharing app is kept.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns the apps back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap.
