The Formovie (Fengmi) MiProjM05 projector sends telemetry, auto-installs partner apps, and pushes recommendations and content. It also has preloaded apps and unused system apps. The classic Android TV home is on the list to be turned off once a new one is in place. The list has 20 apps.
Focus, keystone and auto keystone, the projector settings and the app drawer are kept, along with Live Channels and the Play Store. Good to know on this model
- The remote's gear button needs the old home screen to open anything. Mapping it to Settings with a helper stops a held Volume Up from ramping.
- This projector has one HDMI port and no tuner.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will auto keystone still work on my Formovie projector?
Yes. It still works, even with the camera service off.
What does the gear button on the remote do?
With the old home screen turned off it does nothing. A helper can map it to Settings, but then a held Volume Up changes one step per press.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns the apps back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap.
