This Haier set ships with a viewing tracker that uses content recognition to see what is on screen, plus a demo mode meant for shop displays. It also has Haier telemetry, share and promo apps, and recommendation and ad rows from Google on the home screen. A few partner auto-install and housekeeping apps are on the list too.
This list was checked on one set on the day it was changed, not over several days. The check showed the new home screen takes over once the stock home screen is switched off. The remote's hot keys, Live TV, Google Assistant, screen sharing and the streaming apps such as Netflix and YouTube are kept on purpose. TidyTV turns the list off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never uninstalls anything.

What always stays on

Good to know on this model
- Some Haier and Google packages have names that look like junk but run the remote's hot keys, Bluetooth pairing or factory tests. The list keeps them, so leave them alone.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my Haier Android TV DVB2K?
The list keeps Google Assistant installed, so the voice button should keep working. The check on this set was made over a single day, so try the button once after the change.
Does casting still work?
Yes. Chromecast is kept, and so are the Miracast and HaiCast screen sharing services.
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
It turns off the Google recommendation and ad rows, plus the Haier promo app and the Haier content launcher.
