Debloat the MTC UK 2K Android TV

This MediaTek-based set shares its firmware family with JVC UK sets. It ships with Google launcher ad and recommendation services, Google telemetry and ambient screensaver ads, and a layer of preloaded junk. The list also covers a calendar app and the voice assistant, which are off by choice.
The firmware limits what Android will report about the set, so checks rely on package lists and screenshots. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything. The phone and TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi, and the TV asks you once to allow debugging.

Note: on the tested unit the whole uk.co.freeview.* suite was already disabled out of the box; disabling again throws SecurityException - the end state is the same, the list is safe to apply.

Good to know on this model
- This firmware hides much of the set's status from Android, so a few checks work differently than on other TVs.
- The list includes the Freeview Play app layer. Leave those lines on in the app if you watch Freeview Play.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my MTC UK 2K?
Not with the default list, because the voice assistant is turned off by choice. Switch it back on in the app if you use voice.
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
Mostly. It turns off the Google launcher ad and recommendation services and the ambient ads.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap.
