Debloat the Sankey SMART2KTVSE

Android 13 (Whale OS) · 18 apps on the list · tested on a real set

This Sankey set runs Whale OS on Android 13. It ships with Whale OS services, factory and test apps, a voice assistant, Android ad services and system updaters that can bring the bloat back. The list turns these off. Each app on the list has its own switch in the app, so you decide what goes.

It was tested and working for several days, and nothing broke. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything. The phone and TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi, and the TV asks you once to allow debugging.

Grouped as the tested list groups them. In the app each one has a switch, so you choose. Apps marked your call are extras the list leaves on.

What always stays on

Good to know on this model

How to do it

  1. Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
  2. Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
  3. Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

How do I turn on debugging on a Sankey SMART2KTVSE?

The usual code does not work. Install the Activity Launcher app, open Settings then Developer options from it, and turn on USB debugging.

Will the updaters bring the bloat back?

The list also switches off the system updaters, so the bloat is less likely to come back.

Can I undo it?

Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on in one tap.

Tidy your TV from your phone

TidyTV is free and open source. It saves a backup first, turns apps off instead of deleting them, and puts everything back with one tap.
