Debloat the Vu 4K

The Vu 4K sold in India ships with Vu's Enhanced Viewing feature, which recognises content on screen, and Google's feedback reporter. It also has a shop demo mode, partner app auto-installs, and preloaded apps the owner may not use: Vu's family photo app and music app, a web browser, MX Player and Alexa.
The list was tested on the day it was applied, with two restarts, and both were normal. Switching HDMI from the launcher's Inputs menu worked, and apps opened from the dock. The notes say it had not yet been used for days. TidyTV turns these apps off from a phone on the same Wi-Fi, after saving a backup. Nothing is uninstalled, and one tap restores them.

Good to know on this model
- Leave Vu's smart-sense and AIoT services on. On a similar Hisense set, turning them off sent the TV into Android Recovery at the next start.
- USB debugging alone opens network debugging on port 5555, so no separate pairing step is needed.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my Vu 4K?
Yes. Google Assistant is left on by choice on this list, so the voice button should still work.
Does casting still work?
Yes. Chromecast, AirPlay and Miracast are left on by choice.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns the apps back on and puts the old home screen back, in one tap.
