Debloat the BYINTEK T5 Max
Google TV 14 · 18 apps on the list · tested on a real set
The BYINTEK T5 Max projector has a built-in Google TV stick with telemetry and remote management on it. It also has ad and personalization services, factory test apps and extra apps that make no sense on a projector stick. The list has 18 apps.
The setup wizard was left on, because it holds the saved Wi-Fi network and turning it off would drop the projector off Wi-Fi. TidyTV leaves it on. It turns the rest off over Wi-Fi with a backup first, and the projector hardware is not touched. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.
Apps TidyTV can turn off on the BYINTEK T5 Max
Grouped as the tested list groups them. In the app each one has a switch, so you choose. Apps marked your call are extras the list leaves on.

What always stays on
- The setup wizard, which owns the saved Wi-Fi network
- The projector's autofocus, keystone and HDMI switching
- Google Play Store and Play Services
- The remote and Bluetooth
Good to know on this model
- Autofocus, keystone and HDMI switching are run by the projector's own mainboard, not by this stick, so TidyTV cannot touch them.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will my Wi-Fi stay connected?
Yes. The setup wizard holds the saved network, so TidyTV leaves it on.
Will autofocus and keystone still work?
Yes. They are run by the projector's mainboard, not the Google TV stick, and TidyTV does not touch them.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on in one tap.
