Debloat the TCL G07

The TCL G07 is a Google TV set on Android 11 that reports itself as a Smart TV. It ships with TCL analytics and telemetry, a waterfall of recommendations, TCL Live free channels, a TCL home panel with promo messages, and a hotel mode portal. It also has screen mirroring, a TCL voice service, a T-Solo listen-alone Bluetooth feature, and a few preloaded streaming apps.
The list was tested on a real unit in six batches, with screenshots between them. Wi-Fi, Home, the Input key's source panel, Netflix, YouTube, and Live TV and HDMI from the Inputs menu all kept working. The apps stayed off after a reboot, and the Wi-Fi saved at setup was kept. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over the same Wi-Fi, after a backup, and deletes nothing.

Launcher handover (setupwraith's RecoveryActivity claims HOME once launcherx is off; the install script disables launcherx itself). Ambient mode replaced by the launcher's Clock screensaver.

What always stays on
- Live TV, the tuner and HDMI inputs: com.tcl.tv and com.tcl.tvinput stay on.
- The source panel and Quick Panel: com.tcl.suspension stays on, and it also opens from the Input key.
- Remote keys and Bluetooth pairing: com.tcl.keyhelp and com.tcl.autopair stay on.
- Netflix, YouTube and Chromecast are kept by choice, so they stay on.
- The keyboard and TCL settings services are never turned off by this list.
Good to know on this model
- Once the stock home is off, the Gear, Netflix and YouTube buttons on the remote do nothing. Those buttons only work with the stock home.
- The TCL analytics package also contains the firmware updater. Leave it on if you want TCL firmware updates.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work?
Not as the list is written. Google Assistant is in the off-by-choice section, and it is what the mic button uses. Keep it on in the app if you use voice.
Does casting still work?
Yes for Chromecast, which is kept on. Miracast and MagiConnect screen mirroring are off, so those two will not work.
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
It turns off the waterfall recommendations, the TCL home panel and promo messages, and the TCL tweaks to the home rows. Those are the content and promo parts of this list.
