This 32 inch TCL has only about 1 GB of memory and ships with a TCL account center, a TGuard cleaner, promo rows on the home screen and a TCL web video portal. The unit tested also carried regional preloads, SonyLIV and YuppTV, plus Google extras such as games, Play Movies and a music app.
It was applied and checked on the same day. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything, so each one can be switched back on. Several TCL system apps are kept on purpose so the remote and inputs keep working.

Good to know on this model
- The TCL account app may be turned back on by the system at boot.
- The test was shorter than the project asks for. The owner will report back if anything breaks.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my TCL 32S5400A?
This list does not turn off Google Assistant, so the mic button is left as it is.
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
It turns off the TCL promo rows on the stock home and the TCL promotional apps.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on and puts the stock home screen back.
