The TCL QM6K Pro comes with the Samba TV viewing tracker, TCL usage logging and account sign-in prompts, TCL TV+ and TCL Live content apps, content pushed to the home screen at boot, a silent app installer, store demo and hotel mode apps, and preloaded browser and Alexa apps.

The notes come from a 2025 US set on Android 14 firmware. Live TV, the HDMI inputs and the remote's key handling are kept on purpose, and the Wi-Fi and setup services are left on. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never uninstalls anything.

Good to know on this model

On a related TCL set, turning off a few setup services dropped the Wi-Fi connection. Those services are kept on this list, but if Wi-Fi drops after a change, the network will need joining again in Settings.
If the home screen goes blank, the TV can switch to HDMI 1 and wake a connected game console over the HDMI link.
For soundbar volume control, connect the soundbar to HDMI 4 (eARC) instead of optical. The TV's audio control setting may also need turning on.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Will the voice button still work?

Yes. Google Assistant is an optional switch for this model and is not turned off by default.

Does casting still work?

Yes. Chromecast built-in and AirPlay are not on the default list.

Will it stop the ads on the home screen?

It turns off TCL's content pushed to the home screen at boot, its partner tweaks to the home rows and its message box promos. Google's own rows are not on this list.
