The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A runs Android TV 10 with the PatchWall home screen. It ships with Xiaomi analytics and statistics services, PatchWall and Mi content rows and promos, and background services such as a TV manager cleaner, a screen share service and an Alexa bridge. It also has preloaded apps such as a Xiaomi music app and a video calling app.

What always stays on
- Chromecast: the Mi cast service is turned off, but Chromecast still works.
- Play Store, Play services, keyboards, TV inputs, the remote and Bluetooth pairing are always kept by TidyTV.
- Settings and setup apps are always kept too.
Good to know on this model
- The default keyboard points at an app that is not installed, so no keyboard appears in search boxes. Set Gboard as the keyboard in the TV's settings.
- The firmware update service is turned off by this list. Turn it on in the app to check for firmware updates.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Does casting still work?
Yes. Chromecast still works, even though the Mi cast service is turned off.
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
It turns off the PatchWall and Mi content rows, the Mi TV+ channels and promos, and Xiaomi's analytics. Those are the home screen promos this list covers.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap.
