The Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd gen runs Google TV on Android 14. It ships with a quality-stats uploader, PatchWall content rows and promos, and preloaded apps such as Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video. Some of those are optional, and personal choice apps like the voice assistant and phone remote are in the list too.
Tested for one evening: the home screen, app grid, D-pad and dock apps all worked, and they survived one restart. It has not been used for days yet. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi. It saves a backup first, switches each app off in Android's own settings and never uninstalls anything.

Good to know on this model
- With the stock home screen off, apps that have no spot on the dock appear in the grid.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my Xiaomi TV Box S?
Only if you keep voice on. The voice assistant is a personal choice in the list, and the mic button stops working when it is off. Leave its switch on in the app if you use it.
Does casting still work?
Mi Cast and sharing are personal choices in the list. Keep their switches on in the app and casting keeps working.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap.
