This Thomson set from India has only 1 GB of memory, and about 210 MB of that is free on the stock home screen. It ships with telemetry and ad services, content and promo apps, partner installs and background services. Each app has its own switch in the app, so you decide which ones to turn off.
It was checked on a real set in small batches with a screenshot after each. Live TV, HDMI and AV still switch, YouTube plays, and with a clean home screen the real remote's Home, Input, Settings, app buttons and mic work. A reboot re-enabled none of the apps. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.

Good to know on this model
- The remote is infrared, so there is no Bluetooth pairing to worry about.
- Several apps are off by the owner's choice on this unit. Switch back on any you use.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Can I get the old home screen back on my Thomson 43RT1055?
Yes. Restore everything in the app turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap. TidyTV only switches apps off, so nothing is ever deleted.
Will it free up memory on my Thomson?
It turns off background apps, which helps on a 1 GB set, but the page makes no speed promises. The stock home screen is the heaviest part, and a clean home screen is optional.
