This Skyworth-built Thomson 4K TV ships with telemetry and after-sale push services, Android ad and personalisation services, and Skyworth content, ads, demos and preloads. A few apps are also not needed on a TV at all. Each app has its own switch in the app, so you decide which ones to turn off.

It was applied in batches with a screenshot after each. Live TV, HDMI, YouTube and Hotstar kept working, and after a reboot the list of switched-off apps matched exactly, because this firmware re-enables nothing at boot. Good to know on this model

The settings button needs a small setting if you use a clean home screen.
The setup wizard owns the saved Wi-Fi network on some sets, so forget and rejoin it first.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Can I get the old home screen back on my Thomson SPPL 4K Google TV?

Yes. Restore everything in the app turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap. TidyTV only switches apps off, so nothing is ever deleted.

Will the remote's app buttons still work?

Yes. Input, YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video and the mic button all worked in testing.

Does TidyTV delete anything on my Thomson SPPL 4K Google TV?
