Debloat the Hisense HiSmartTV A4
Android TV 11 · 16 apps on the list · tested on a real set
The HiSmartTV A4 ships with a viewing tracker, Hisense push messages and a partner referral tracker. It also has recommendation rows, a hotel and store mode, and a Hisense Channels area with free ad-supported channels. A few preloaded streaming apps come along too, such as Prime Video and Pandora, but you can keep the ones you use.
The list was applied in three batches with a restart after each. The TV started normally every time, and all seven inputs, HDMI 1 to 4, composite and two tuners, were still there. Switching to HDMI 1 from the Inputs menu worked. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi, with a backup first, and restore everything switches them back on in one tap.

What always stays on
- Live TV, HDMI and the tuner inputs, which MediaTek and Hisense services handle.
- The remote's keys and pairing, including the Netflix key service.
- Hisense's own TV services, such as the smart service and the customer launcher.
- Firmware updates, YouTube, Chromecast, Assistant, screen sharing and the USB player. These stay on, and you can switch any of them off in the app.
Good to know on this model

- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my Hisense HiSmartTV A4?
Yes. Google Assistant is one of the kept services, and you can switch it off in the app if you never use voice.
Does casting still work?
Yes. Chromecast and screen sharing (Miracast) are kept, and you can switch either one off in the app.
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
Mostly. It turns off the tracking, the recommendation rows and Hisense Channels. The sponsored banner on the stock home screen only goes when the home screen is replaced.
