This Hisense Fire TV Edition from the US ships with ads, shopping and content recognition, telemetry and metrics, tutorials and preloaded apps. Alexa voice and casting are optional groups. The list has 30 apps. It is the first Fire OS 8 TV in this set of lists.
It was lived with from 19 October through several restarts. Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Spotify, Settings, Live TV settings and the HDMI inputs worked. Fire TV: TidyTV turns the apps off but keeps Amazon's home screen, because Fire OS won't let another home screen take over.

Good to know on this model
- Alexa voice turns itself back on at every restart. Everything else stays off, so run the list again after a restart.
- Two Amazon services are protected and cannot be turned off.
- Input switching is reserved for Amazon, so use the remote's Input button.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my Hisense Fire TV?
Alexa voice is an optional group. It comes back on at every restart anyway, so the button works unless you switch it off again.
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
It stops the third-party ad in the hero banner when a private DNS ad blocker is used. Amazon's own promos stay, because they come from the protected home screen.
Can I get a different home screen?
No. Amazon's home screen is protected on Fire TV and cannot be turned off.
