Debloat the Hisense HiSmartTV A4
Android TV 9 · 22 apps on the list · tested on a real set
The Hisense HiSmartTV A4 comes with log reporting and feedback services, recommendation rows, a store display mode, a retail demo loop and silent preload installs. It also ships with a browser, Play Music, a Hisense remote app, a USB media player and a screensaver app that most owners never use.
This list was tested on one TV. It started normally after every group was turned off, and the HDMI 1 to 3, AV and tuner inputs stayed in the Inputs menu. Chromecast, Google Assistant, the screen mirroring receiver and YouTube are kept by choice. TidyTV turns the apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi with a backup first, and nothing is uninstalled.

Good to know on this model
- The sponsored banner and sponsored row on the stock home screen are not removed by this list. Only a different home screen does that, and the app can set up a clean one as an option.
- This list turns off both Hisense firmware update services. Turn them back on in the app if you want the TV to check for a new update.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
Not by itself. The full-width sponsored banner and sponsored row on the stock home screen stay until a different home screen is in use. The app can set up a clean home screen as an option.
Does casting still work?
Yes. Chromecast is kept by choice, and the screen mirroring receiver is kept too.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back, in one tap.
