Debloat the Hisense SmartTV 4K FFM

Android TV 10 · 18 apps on the list · tested on a real set

This Hisense ships with an ACR viewing tracker (automatic content recognition, which watches what is on screen), a VIDAA app preload and Hisense push-message services. It also has retail, store and hotel demo modes, over-the-air update services, Google home-screen movie and music rows, and voice assistant apps.

The list was applied on one set in seven groups, with a restart after each. The TV booted normally, and HDMI-CEC, the inputs and Live TV kept working. TidyTV turns these items off from your phone over Wi-Fi. It saves a backup first, switches each app off without deleting it, and stops if something looks wrong.

Good to know on this model

While Google Assistant and voice search are off, the remote's microphone button stops working.
Some Hisense system apps were left on, because a test that turned off three of them sent one TV into Android Recovery. If that screen appears, choose 'Try again', not 'Factory data reset'.
Firmware updates are turned off with the update apps. Turn them back on with their switches to receive an update.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Will the voice button still work on my Hisense SmartTV 4K FFM?

Not while Google Assistant and voice search are off. The list turns them off, and the remote's microphone button stops working until you turn them back on.

Will I still get firmware updates?

Not while the update apps are off. Turn them back on with their switches to receive an update.

Will it stop the ads on the home screen?

It turns off the viewing tracker, the VIDAA app preload, the Hisense push messages and the Google home-screen movie and music rows. Restore everything turns them back on in one tap.
