The Sony BRAVIA 4K GB ships with Samba TV, a viewing tracker that recognises what is on screen. It also has Sony Select, My BRAVIA promos and a Discover content bar, retail demo modes, and device agents that run in the background. Google recommendation rows and some preloaded apps are on as well.
The new home screen was set and held after a reboot. Chromecast, screen mirroring, the DLNA renderer, the phone remote and the USB media and music players are left on by choice. TidyTV turns the other apps off from a phone on the same Wi-Fi, after saving a backup, and nothing is uninstalled.

Good to know on this model
- A Sony service broadcasts the TV's model, MAC address and IP address on the home network. This list turns it off.
- The notes say this list has not been used for weeks yet. If an app breaks, switch it back on in TidyTV.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my Sony BRAVIA 4K GB?
The list does not turn off Google Assistant or voice search, so the voice button should still work.
Does casting still work?
Yes. Chromecast built-in and screen mirroring are left on by choice.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Yes. Restore everything turns the apps back on and puts the old home screen back, in one tap.
