Debloat the TCL 55C815

Android TV 11 · 18 apps on the list · tested on a real set

This Danish TCL runs Android TV 11 and ships with TCL analytics, partner app attribution and a Play auto-install stub. The home screen has a TCL Channel content feed, recommendation rows and a recommended apps showcase, and TCL adds a message and promo box and a shop-mode sticker. Google extras and setup helpers are listed too.

The list is short at eighteen apps. TidyTV turns them off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything, so each one can be switched back on. Several TCL system apps are kept on purpose so the remote and Wi-Fi keep working.

Good to know on this model

Some apps the factory already turned off, such as the UK catch-up apps, are left alone.
TCL's updater can turn the content feed back on after a restart. Hide it in the launcher too.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Will TV updates still work?

Yes. This list does not turn off TCL's firmware updater.

Will it stop the ads on the home screen?

It turns off the TCL content feed, the recommended apps showcase, the message and promo box and the recommendation rows.

Can I get the old home screen back?

Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on and puts the stock Android TV home screen back.
