Android TV 11 · 29 apps on the list · tested on a real set

This Greek TCL runs Android TV 11 and ships with TCL analytics, home screen recommendation rows, partner app attribution and a partner app auto installer. TCL also pushes content to the home screen at boot, has a TCL Channel web feed, pushed messages and promos, a retail demo sticker and a TCL IoT dashboard with gift box promos.

The list was applied in five batches with a screenshot after each, then rebooted once: nothing came back on. The Inputs menu, Wi-Fi and every remote button worked. TidyTV saves a backup first and never deletes anything, so each app can be switched back on.

Good to know on this model

Several music and utility apps are off by choice. Switch back on any you use.
Install a replacement home screen first before the stock one is turned off.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Will the voice button still work on my TCL 55EP640?

Not with the default list. It turns off Google Assistant, voice search, the TCL voice service and the microphone manager. Switch them back on in the app if you use voice.

Will it stop the ads on the home screen?

It turns off the TCL content pushes, web content feed, messages and promos, recommendation rows and the gift box dashboard.

Can I get the old home screen back?

Yes. Restore everything turns every app back on and puts the stock Android TV home screen back.
