This Vietnamese TCL QD-Mini LED runs Google TV on Android 12, and nothing was turned off at the factory. Samba TV, which tracks what is on screen, the TCL analytics service and log capture all ship switched on. It also carries TCL content feeds, Live FAST channels, push messages, hotel mode, retail demo apps and a memory cleaner.

The list was applied in five batches with a screenshot between them, and all 29 apps stayed off after a reboot. A second reboot kept all 32 off. TidyTV turns the apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.

Good to know on this model

Re-enable the game mode overlay if you play on a console, and the soundbar updater if you update a TCL soundbar.
Vietnamese tab names on the Google TV home are changed by a TCL app on the list.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Will the voice button still work on my TCL 55P8LS?

Yes. Google Assistant on the mic button is kept.

Does casting still work?

Yes. Chromecast and AirPlay are kept.

Will TV updates still work?

The analytics service is on the list. Turn it back on in the app if firmware updates stop arriving.
