This 65-inch TCL C7L, sold in Australia in 2025, runs Google TV 14. It ships with TCL tracking and analytics, TCL content, ads and promos, a retail demo and hotel mode, and preloaded apps and services. Three more apps are off by choice.

It was tested on a real unit in six batches with screenshots between them. All four HDMI inputs, Live TV, YouTube and every remote button kept working, and all 27 apps stayed off after a restart. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.

Good to know on this model

The setup wizard owned the saved Wi-Fi network on this set. Forget it and rejoin in Settings first, or the TV drops off Wi-Fi.
Switching off the setup wizard is only safe after the new home screen is set, or a blank screen can take Home.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Will casting still work?

Yes. Chromecast, AirPlay and Miracast are all kept by the owner.

Will the voice button still work?

Yes. Google Assistant and the remote service that carries the mic button are kept.

Does it have a way back?

Yes. Restore everything in the app turns every app back on in one tap, and puts the old home screen back if you changed it.
