Google TV (Android 12) · 28 apps on the list · tested on a real set

The Australian TCL Smart TV Pro ships with TCL promo, demo and help apps, a TCL Channel, free TCL Live channels, AirPlay components and a few hotel and guard apps. It also has duplicate web view components, leftover MediaTek apps and some Google extras.

The list was applied in five batches on one set with screenshots between them. All 28 apps stayed off across a reboot, and the source key panel, HDMI switching, SmartTube and Plex were checked afterwards. AirPlay and Miracast sessions were not tested. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.

Home takeover for launcher/ 2

On the tested set the saved Wi-Fi belonged to com.android.tv.settings, so the setup wizard could go; disable.sh skips it by itself when the network belongs to setupwraith.

Good to know on this model

Google TV Basic TV mode had already turned Netflix, YouTube and Stan off on the tested set. TidyTV leaves them as they were.
AirPlay and Miracast were not tested after the change.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Can I get the old home screen back on my TCL Smart TV Pro?

Yes. Restore everything in the app turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap. TidyTV only switches apps off, so nothing is ever deleted.

Will AirPlay still work on this TCL?

This list switches off the AirPlay components. AirPlay and Miracast sessions were not tested, so switch it back on in the app if you need it.

Does TidyTV delete anything on my TCL Smart TV Pro?

No. It turns apps off with Android's own setting, saves a backup first and checks each one. You can turn any app back on with its switch.
