The TCL Q7C ships with TCL promos, push messages, content rows and a store demo mode. It also has telemetry, Android 14 ad and privacy services, and several streaming apps preloaded for the German-speaking market. Each app has its own switch in the app, so you decide which ones to turn off.

It was tested on one set from 21 October, switched off by hand in five batches with a screenshot after each. The first 35 apps stayed off after a reboot, and YouTube, Live TV and the HDMI input list were checked afterwards. TidyTV does the same from your phone, with a backup first. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.

Good to know on this model

The list also turns off voice, AirPlay, mirroring and several streaming apps by the owner's choice. Switch any back on in the app.
The set was set up on Ethernet.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Can I get the old home screen back on my TCL Q7C QD-Mini LED?

Yes. Restore everything in the app turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap. TidyTV only switches apps off, so nothing is ever deleted.

Will the voice button still work on my TCL Q7C?

Not with this list. Voice is switched off by the owner's choice, so switch it back on in the app if you use it.

Does TidyTV delete anything on my TCL Q7C QD-Mini LED?

No. It turns apps off with Android's own setting, saves a backup first and checks each one. You can turn any app back on with its switch.
