This Amazon Fire TV model shows ads, runs content recognition and pushes shopping. It also sends usage and telemetry reports to Amazon and comes with tutorials, promos and Amazon content apps preloaded. The list covers these three groups of apps.
It was tested on one unit running Android 11 without Google services. Amazon's own home screen cannot be turned off or replaced, so TidyTV leaves it in place. It turns off the ad, telemetry and preload apps from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and deletes nothing. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.
Fire TV: TidyTV turns the apps off but keeps Amazon's home screen, because Fire OS won't let another home screen take over.

Good to know on this model
- Fire TV keeps Amazon's home screen. TidyTV only turns off apps, so no new home screen is installed.
- Miracast, MiniTV, Disney+ and Tubi are left on for you to decide.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my Fire TV?
Yes. Alexa and voice search are kept on purpose.
Can I get a different home screen?
No. Amazon's home screen is protected on Fire TV and cannot be turned off. TidyTV removes the ads, telemetry and preloads around it.
Does casting still work?
Netflix and YouTube casting keep working. Miracast is left on too, and you can switch it off in the app if you want.
