Debloat the Amazon Fire TV (AFTEU014)
Fire OS 7 · 35 apps on the list · tested on a real set
This Amazon Fire TV smart TV sells in Germany and ships with Amazon telemetry, metrics and usage reporting. It also shows ads, promos, notices and tutorials, and has Amazon apps, Alexa voice, the Silk browser and printing services that most owners never use. The list sorts these into groups so you can pick.
The list was applied in four batches with a screenshot after each, then the TV was restarted. Thirty-four of 35 stayed off. Home, live TV with DVB channels, Netflix, Joyn, ZDF and ARD Mediathek still opened. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.
Fire TV: TidyTV turns the apps off but keeps Amazon's home screen, because Fire OS won't let another home screen take over.
Apps TidyTV can turn off on the Amazon Fire TV (AFTEU014)
Grouped as the tested list groups them. In the app each one has a switch, so you choose. Apps marked your call are extras the list leaves on.

Good to know on this model
- Amazon's Alexa voice service turns itself back on at every restart. It is on the list, but it does not stay off.
- Two update services are protected by Fire OS, so firmware updates keep arriving.
- The Amazon hero banner on the home screen is not removed. A private DNS ad blocker was tried and did not remove it.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will it remove the big banner on the home screen?
No. The hero banner comes from Amazon's protected home screen. Private DNS was tried and the banner stayed.
Does Alexa stay off?
Not reliably. Alexa voice turns itself back on at every restart, so use Check my TV to switch it off again.
Will firmware updates still arrive?
Yes. The two update services cannot be turned off on this build, so updates keep coming.
