The 2023 Fire TV Stick 4K sends telemetry, metrics, usage and location reports to Amazon. Its home screen has sponsored rows, recommendations, promos and shopping, and the stick ships with preloaded Amazon apps and setup helpers. This is a long list of 57 apps, in groups.
It was applied in four batches with a screenshot after each, then restarted. All 57 stayed off. Home, Prime Video, Netflix, Globoplay and Disney+ opened and Wi-Fi still connected. TidyTV turns these off over Wi-Fi with a backup first and deletes nothing. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.
Fire TV: TidyTV turns the apps off but keeps Amazon's home screen, because Fire OS won't let another home screen take over.

- Seven Amazon services are protected on this build and cannot be turned off.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my Fire TV Stick 4K?
Yes. Voice search stays on, and it keeps working with the Alexa extras turned off.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Amazon's home screen is never turned off on Fire TV, so there is nothing to bring back. Restore everything turns every app back on.
Will it stop the ads on the home screen?
It turns off sponsored rows, recommendations and promos. A few Amazon services are protected, so some Amazon content may still show.
