The Fire TV Stick Lite sends telemetry, metrics and usage reports to Amazon. Its home screen has sponsored rows, recommendations, promos and shopping, and it comes with preloaded Amazon apps and setup helpers. The list covers 51 apps in groups so you can keep what you use.
It was restarted after the list was applied, and everything stayed off. Home, Prime Video and Netflix opened and Wi-Fi still connected. - Five Amazon services are protected on this build and cannot be turned off.
How to do it
- Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
- Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
- Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
Questions
Will the voice button still work on my Fire TV Stick Lite?
Yes. Voice search on the remote's mic button keeps working with all the Alexa extras off.
Does casting still work?
Yes. Casting is kept on purpose.
Can I get the old home screen back?
Amazon's home screen is never turned off on Fire TV. Restore everything turns every app TidyTV disabled back on.
