This Sony BRAVIA AE1 runs Google TV on Android 12. It ships with a viewing tracker and telemetry, Sony ads and partner installs, demo and shop mode, and help apps. The list also covers unused features and UK broadcaster apps, which are off by choice.

It was applied on one unit and everything stayed off after a restart, with Home on the new launcher. It had not been lived with for days yet. TidyTV turns these off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.

Good to know on this model

With the stock home screen off, the Settings, Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video buttons do nothing until the key helper is on.
A held volume key then moves one step per press instead of ramping.
The setup wizard claims Home. Check it does not own your Wi-Fi network before switching it off.
This set has no Chromecast and no Google Assistant package.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Will the Input key still work?

Yes. It opens Sony's own source panel and needs no helper.

Do the Netflix and YouTube buttons still work?

Only with the key helper on once the stock home screen is off. With it on, they worked.

Does it have a way back?

Yes. Restore everything in the app turns every app back on in one tap, and puts the old home screen back if you changed it.
