Debloat the Sony BRAVIA KD-65X82L

Google TV 12 · 29 apps on the list · tested on a real set

This Sony set ships with Samba TV, which watches what is on screen, plus Sony and Qterics usage agents and a remote-support service. The home screen carries Sony Select app tips and content rows, and the TV includes retail demo mode, help tiles, music and games apps, and Sony's BRAVIA Connect link to phones.

The list was applied in three batches with a screenshot and crash check after each, then checked again after a reboot: everything switched off stayed off. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything, so each one can be switched back on.

Apps TidyTV can turn off on the Sony BRAVIA KD-65X82L

Grouped as the tested list groups them. In the app each one has a switch, so you choose. Apps marked your call are extras the list leaves on.

Batch 3 1

Google TV setup wizard, which also claims HOME (RecoveryActivity, priority 1) and would keep Home away from the new launcher. Check `dumpsys wifi | grep -o 'cname=[^ ]*'` first: a network it owns is deleted when it is disabled. Here it owned only an unused 2.4 GHz entry, the TV is on 5 GHz (re-joined in Settings), so it ran with FORCE_SETUPWRAITH=1.

How to do it

  1. Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
  2. Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
  3. Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.
