This Sony OLED ships with Samba TV, which tracks what is on screen, plus Qterics and Sony agents that report device and usage data. The Google TV home carries a Sony promo tile and content rows, and partner apps can install themselves. The TV also has retail demo mode, hotel and pro-mode services, and help tiles.

The list was checked on this TV and tested with a replacement launcher. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything, so each one can be switched back on in the app.

Good to know on this model

Do not turn off the stock home until a working replacement is installed and checked.
AirPlay, DLNA and the broadcast red-button player (HbbTV) are optional choices on the list.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Will the voice button still work on my Sony XR-65A80J?

Yes. The voice assistant is kept.

Does casting still work?

Yes for Chromecast and Miracast, which are kept. AirPlay is an optional switch on the list.

Can I get the old home screen back?

Yes. Restore everything in the app turns every app back on and puts the stock Google TV home screen back.
