Debloat the Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro 65-inch (China)

This China-market Xiaomi TV ships with telemetry, push and cloud-control services, ads and promoted content on PatchWall, and a lot of background services and preloaded apps. It also has a Chinese voice assistant and Mi Home. Each app has its own switch in the app, so you decide which ones to turn off.

On this firmware the old PatchWall home screen must stay on, because switching it off leaves a black screen. TidyTV sets the new home screen as preferred instead, and that survives a reboot. TidyTV turns these apps off from your phone over Wi-Fi, saves a backup first and never deletes anything.

Voice and Mi Home 5

KEEP THESE if an external Xiao Ai (小爱) speaker should be able to control the TV: disabling all five cut a household's voice "turn the TV off" in testing, and enabling them again restored it. The TV-side voice remote may only need voicecontrol/wakeupservice; the speaker path goes through the Mico MQTT service and the Mi Home packages. Not narrowed down to one package.

Good to know on this model

Do not switch off the stock home. Without it the TV shows a black screen.
Network debugging closes on every reboot and has to be turned back on.

How to do it

Turn on developer options On the TV, open Settings › System › About and select the build number 7 times. Then turn on USB debugging, and Network debugging if you see it.
Tap your TV in TidyTV Your phone finds the TV on the Wi-Fi. Tick "Always allow" and press Allow when the TV asks.
Review, then tidy TidyTV saves a backup, shows these apps with switches, and turns off the ones you pick, checking each one.

Questions

Can I get the old home screen back on my Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro 65-inch?

Yes. Restore everything in the app turns every app back on and puts the old home screen back in one tap. TidyTV only switches apps off, so nothing is ever deleted.

Will I see the old PatchWall home screen?

No. It stays on in the background, but the new home screen is set as preferred, so PatchWall is never shown.

Does TidyTV delete anything on my Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro 65-inch?
